Hansfield - Dublin 15 

Hansfield is a thriving new sustainable community established beside Hansfield Train Station and developed by Alanna homes over the past 10 years in collaboration with Fingal County Council

Hansfield is a thriving new community in Dublin 15 that was designed and constructed within the framework of the Hansfield SDZ [Strategic Development Zone] published by Fingal County Council.  Over 10 years of development, Alanna Homes have delivered 1200 residential dwellings in a range of densities and typologies including detached, semi-detached and terraced houses; duplex typologies and higher density apartment buildings along with multiple parks, a creche, a village centre and a public plaza with direct access to Hansfield Train Station.

In collaboration with both of the key stakeholders [Fingal County Council and Alanna Homes] a considered design approach was taken that was particular to each neighbourhood within the development, ranging in density from low to high across the site and in relation to proximity to the train station.  Furthermore, a mix of construction buildups was employed and detailed at varying stages of development including insulated concrete formwork [ICF] and precast concrete construction.  Each construction approach involved careful specification and detailing in close collaboration with the delivery team and industry experts.

A key feature of the delivered scheme is the considered integration of pocket parks and open spaces with the residential development.  Pedestrian permeability is maintained across the scheme with clear way finding punctuated by the large central village green and by the access via an urban plaza to the Train Station.
